Q: Is this event all ages?  

A: YES.  12 and under free with paying adult. 

Q: Are in and outs allowed?

A: YES.  Just make sure to keep your wristband on at all times.

Q: Will this show sell out?

A: It could!  Have you seen the line up?


Q: Can I pick what days I want to go with the 2 day pass?
A: No.  The 2 day pass is only good for Saturday and Sunday.

Q: I’m having technical difficulties buying my tickets…
A: Contact our fantastic ticket provider, EventBrite for all of your ticket purchasing questions.  1-888-810-2063 or http://www.eventbrite.com/contact-us/

Q: Do you have ticket outlets?
A: Yes:  Only 3-Day tickets are available at the ticket outlets.  Complete list of our ticket outlets can be found here.  http://californiarootsfestival.com/ticket-outlets/

Q: Will you be selling single day tickets?
A: YES.  Single day tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are now available only on our website.

Q: Will you be selling tickets at the gate?
A: If tickets are still available, we will be selling them at the Front Gate for Day-Of prices. But, I’d get my tickets now if I were you!

Q: I ordered my tickets on EventBrite and now I want to know when I’m going to get them.

Q: Can I get a refund for my ticket?
A: ..no refunds, cancellations or exchanges.

Q: Is a three day pass three separate tickets?
A: No, a three day pass is one wristband that you must leave on for all three days.  Do not tamper with or remove your wristband.  You will need to buy a new wristband to re-enter the festival grounds if you tamper with or remove your wristband.

Q: On Saturday morning I have to work before I come back to the festival and I can’t wear the wristband at work.
A: Take the weekend off work or wear long sleeves!  Seriously though, if you remove or tamper with your wristband, you will need to purchase a new wristband for re-entry.

Q: What happens if I lose or damage my festival wristband?
A:  You must buy a new wristband to re-enter the festival grounds.

Q: But that sucks because I was just dancing really hard and all of the sudden my wristband was gone.
A: We know. That sucks. You must buy a new wristband to re-enter the festival grounds.

Q: I saw some guy on the street corner that’s selling California Roots tickets.  I think they are $5 cheaper than the ones you are selling.  Should I buy my tickets from him?
A: Please don’t. Only tickets bought from the California Roots Festival website, at the Official California Roots Ticket Outlets, or through EventBrite.com are guaranteed to be authentic.  We therefore recommend that you do not but tickets from a secondary ticket vendor not listed above.  Fake tickets and wristbands may appear to look like the real thing but they will not pass the California Roots Festival security measures.  Fake tickets will be turned away.  The California Roots Festival is not responsible for any counterfeit tickets.

RV and Camping FAQ’s

PLEASE NOTE: RV & CAMPING ARE SOLD OUT


Q: What time can we get into the RV & Camping areas?
A: RV Camping opens at 3:00PM on Thursday and 8:00am Friday. 

Q: What’s the latest we can get into the RV & Camping areas to set up?
A:  Don’t show up after 10:00pm on Friday. The gates will be closed and you will not be allowed to enter the RV & Camping area.  This is for everyone’s safety.

Q:  Are there hook ups for our RV?
A:  Yep!  Full hook ups!

Q:  If I buy an RV spot, does that get me in to the festival too?
A:  No.  The RV pass is not a festival admission pass.  

Q: Shoot, I don’t have an RV or Camping spot.  Where am I gonna sleep?
A: Well, there’s a whole bunch of hotels within walking distance to the venue.  There’s also nearby campgrounds. Check out our Festival Info page for a list of some local hotels & campgrounds.

Q: We want to have a big party at our RV spot!  Can we invite everyone from the festival to party with us?
A: Nope. Each RV spot is allotted only 6 wristbands. You must have a RV camping wristband to enter the RV Camping area.

What can I bring?

Smiles and good vibes!  You’re at the California Roots Festival!

One empty water bottle or camel bag up to 2 liters. Camel packs are welcome but must be empty for entry. There will be free water filling stations inside.

Suncreen for the afternoon and blankets for the evening fog.

Dancing shoes!  Hula Hoops!

Bicycles, skateboards can be brought to our bike valet by Green Peddlers to the right just inside the main gate entrance.  Bikes & skateboards are not allowed inside the rest of the festival grounds.

One medium sized backpack.  No large or framed backpacks.

Strollers or wagons to carry the little ones.

Non-Professional cameras.


What is not allowed?

No frowns and bad vibes….

No weapons of any kind.

No fireworks or explosives.

No outside food

No squirt guns.

No glass containers.

No outside drinks. (the exception is baby bottles)

No alcohol.

No coolers of any size.

No  tents, pop-ups, canopies or umbrellas.  These block the view for others.

No chairs.

No large or framed backpacks.

No tailgating in parking lots.

No refunds, exchanges or cancellations.

The Basics…

What time do the festival grounds open each day?
Gates open at 12:00PM on Friday and 11AM on Saturday and Sunday.

What time does the music start & end each day?
Friday music starts at 12:30 and Saturday and Sunday at 11:30AM.   Music ends at 11PM every night.

What if it rains or if it feels like it’s raining because it’s so foggy… can I get my money back?
Nope, this festival is rain or shine! No refunds.

Can I go in and out of the festival grounds throughout the day?
Sure!  You can go in and out of the festival grounds, but you will be searched upon re-entry.  If you leave, go back to your hotel room, get super stumbling drunk and then come back to the festival our security will probably not let you come back in until you sober up a bit.  We want everyone to have fun but be safe about it please!

Will the festival sell out?
Possibly.  Have you seen the line up??  Make sure to get your tickets now here!

What’s up with parking?
Official Festival Parking Passes can be purchased in advance on our website.  
I wanna know when my favorite bands are playing.  Can I find that info anywhere?
Yes.  A few weeks before the festival we will post the stage schedules on our website and our Facebook page.  We will also have it listed in our festival programs available inside the festival.

Wait, you are printing fabulous keepsake festival programs?  Where can I get my hands on one?
You can pick them up at the front gate or inside at the festival merchandise booth.  In addition to the stage schedules, you can find a festival grounds map plus big ups to our partners and sponsors.

I am riding my bicycle or skateboard to the festival.  Where can I stash it?
The Green Peddlers provide a FREE valet for bicycles and skateboards.  They are located just inside the festival front gates on the right side

It sucks when I go to a festival and there’s trash all over the place.  How is the California Root Festival going to deal with all that trash?
We agree.  It’s totally gross when that happens.  We are working with The Offset Project to create a Zero Waste Event.  You can find more info about The Offset Project here.  We need your help in keeping the venue clean by placing all of your trash, recycling and compost in the proper receptacles found throughout the festival grounds.  Leave the Scene Clean!

Can I bring my….

Can I bring my kids?
Absolutely!  We welcome families of all ages.  Kids 12 and under are free.  Strollers and wagon for carrying the kiddies are permitted.

Can I bring my pop-up tent and canopy and umbrellas and chairs and set up camp in the festival grounds like I did last year?
Unfortunately, no.  We know how great this was, but due to safety concerns, we are asking you to leave the tents, canopies, chairs and umbrellas at home & bring blankets to sit on instead.

Wait, I can’t bring my chair?
Nope.

Can I bring my water bottle or camel bag?
Sure, as long as when you enter the festival it is empty.  Once inside, you can refill at one our free water filling stations.

Will there be…

Will there be grinds and beer at the festival?
Yep!  There will be a bunch of delicious food vendors plus a number of beer and wine booths.

I’m vegan. Will there be something for me to eat at the festival?
Yes, there will be a number of yummy vegetarian and vegan options from our food vendors.

Will there be First Aid on site?
Of course.  This year we invited Rock Med to help y’all out when needed.

Will there be ATMs?
Yes, the will be a number of ATMs inside the festival grounds.

Will there be ADA accommodations at the California Roots Festival?
We want to provide an unforgettable experience for everybody at the California Roots Festival.  We have ADA parking directly in front of the Front Gate (Gate #5) and ADA Accessible Restrooms throughout the festival grounds.

Will I be able to find Security if needed?
Absolutely.  Security will be at the front gate, near the stages and roaming throughout the festival grounds.  They will all be wearing XXXX colored shirts.  They are happy to help!
